Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center announces the return of physician-scientist Marc E. Lippman, MD, MACP, FRCP, as Professor of Oncology and Medicine at the Georgetown University Medical Center.

From 1988 to 2001, Dr. Lippman served as Director of Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. During his tenure at Georgetown, he also served as Chair of the Department of Oncology and Professor of Oncology, Medicine and Pharmacology at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Lippman joins Georgetown Lombardi as a member of the breast cancer program and will also establish a laboratory and see patients with breast cancer.

Most recently, Lippman served as Deputy Director of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami, as well as the Kathleen and Stanley Glaser Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

An accomplished researcher, Dr. Lippman is widely known for his work in the investigation and treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Lippman holds board certifications in endocrinology and metabolism and in medical oncology from the Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Metabolism and Medical Oncology specialty boards of the American Board of Internal Medicine. ■
