THE INTERNATIONAL Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) has announced Dave Mesko, MBA, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Mesko replaces Fred R. He reports to the IASLC Board of Directors and has eight direct reports.

“The progress both in lung cancer and at IASLC is exciting. We are poised for growth, and I look forward to honoring the mission of IASLC while enhancing our member experience and our strategic focus,” said Mr. Mesko. “I share the passion of our members, partners and, staff in collaborating across borders and disciplines to conquer thoracic cancers worldwide.”

Mr. Mesko joined IASLC in February 2018 as Managing Director and has a strong background in running organizations and in creating new initiatives.

As a part of Mr. Mesko’s promotion, IASLC will be restructuring the organization, maintaining its key initiatives, mission, and commitment to science while enhancing the member experience. Details about the restructure will be released in January 2019.
