The Board of Directors of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) has announced the appointment of Kristin Richeimer, CAE, DES, to the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Ms. Richeimer joined the IASLC in 2010 as its first Director of Membership and brings deep experience in global membership relations, strategic planning, and association leadership. Since 2019, she has served as Chief Experience Officer, with responsibility for leadership of the Member Experience team, including strategy and management related to membership, conferences, IASLC journals, and education.

Fostering a Growing Membership

Ms. Richeimer brings nearly 20 years of association management experience to the position. She has overseen membership growth from just over 2,000 members in 2010 to a record high of 8,693 total members in 2019, along with record World Conference on Lung Cancer 2019 attendance of 7,755.

“I am honored to continue to serve the members of the IASLC in this role,” Ms. Richeimer noted. “We have an incredibly talented staff and global leaders on the Board of Directors and Member Committees to ensure the IASLC’s continued progress and a smooth transition until the new CEO is appointed.”

As the interim CEO, Ms. Richeimer will partner closely with the IASLC Board and staff to ensure that the mission and strategy established by the Board continue without interruption. The IASLC’s Board of Directors remains committed to finding a new executive leader for the organization who will guide the IASLC to advance the mission of conquering thoracic cancers around the world.
