Get Permission

ASCO’s Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Round 1 of reporting is open for data abstraction. Round 1 will close on June 5, 2020, and final reports will be available approximately 4 weeks later.

To get started, go to the registration portal at myqopi.asco.org/registration/login.aspx and log in. A step-by-step tutorial can be found on the QOPI Dashboard (myqopi.asco.org/DashBoard/Login.aspx) under “Round Trainings.”

QOPI is ASCO’s free, oncologist-led, practice-based quality assessment program, which is open to all practices with at least one ASCO member. Participating practices can report on more than 150 evidence-based quality measures and receive individual performance scores by practice, site, and provider, as well as benchmarked scores aggregated from all participating practices. The data and results can then be used to inform future quality improvement projects and initiatives.

Continuing Education Credits

This is the third year in which QOPI has offered a specialized Fellowship Program Track. Fellowship programs can integrate QOPI participation into fellow activities to facilitate meeting Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Common Program Requirements for Practice-Based Learning, Quality Assessment, and Performance Improvement activities, as well as engage fellows in quality assessment, quality reporting, and performance improvement activities that will be required throughout their career.

Additionally, all participants from practices who abstract a minimum of 25 charts for two consecutive rounds with QOPI can document their efforts in a new ASCO eLearning® course and be awarded:

  • 20 American Board of Internal Medicine Practice Assessment points
  • 20 American Medical Association PRA Category 1 Credits
  • 20 American Nurses Credentialing Center Continuing Education Units.

For all other nonphysician members, Certificates of Participation are available upon request, which may be able to be applied toward relicensure (dependent on licensing organization).
