The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) has announced its newest class of grant recipients.

Fellowships

The 2019 Anna D. Barker Fellowship in Basic Cancer Research was awarded to Chaoyun Pan, PhD, of Emory University, Atlanta, and Conghui Yao, PhD, of Harvard Medical School, Cambridge.

The 2020 AACR-Amgen Fellowship in Clinical/Translational Cancer Research was awarded to ShanmugapriyaThangavadivel, PhD, of The Ohio State University, Columbus.

The 2020 AACR-AstraZeneca Breast Cancer Research Fellowships were awarded to Monish Ram Makena, PhD, of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, and Naiara Perurena, PhD, of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston.

The 2020 AACR-AstraZeneca Clinical Immuno-oncology Research Training Fellowships were awarded to Justin A. Chen, MD, of the University of California, Davis, and Nicholas -Tschernia, MD, of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The 2020 AACR-AstraZeneca Immuno-oncology Research Fellowships were awarded to María Casanova-Acebes, PhD, of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, and Leah Schmidt, PhD, of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle.

The 2020 AACR-AstraZeneca Lung Cancer Research Fellowships were awarded to Ezequiel Carlos Dantas, MD PhD, of Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York, and Shilpa Singh, PhD, of Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond.

The 2020 AACR-AstraZeneca Lymphoma Research Fellowships were awarded to Zachary Epstein-Peterson, MD, of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, andTimothy J. Voorhees, MD, of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The 2020 AACR-Bristol-Myers Squibb Immuno-oncology Research Fellowship was awarded to Chris Nabel, MD, PhD, of Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

The 2019 AACR-Cancer Research UK Transatlantic Fellowships were awarded to Geylani Can, PhD, of the University of Cambridge, England, and Alejandro Jimenez-Sanchez, PhD, of the The Francis Crick Institute, London. Ching Ting (Justin) Loke, PhD, of the University of Birmingham, England, and Hadley Elizbeth Sheppard, PhD, of Baylor College of Medicine, Houston.

The 2020 AACR-Genentech Cancer Disparities Research Fellowships were awarded to Tyler A. Allen, PhD, of Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, and Rania Bassiouni, PhD, of the University of Southern California. Los Angeles.

The 2020 AACR-Genentech Immuno-oncology Research Fellowship was awarded to Wei Wang, PhD, of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, Madison.

The 2020 AACR-Incyte Immuno-oncology Research Fellowship was presented to Nicoletta Cieri, MD, PhD, of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston.

The 2020 AACR-Ocular Melanoma Foundation Fellowship, in honor of Robert C. Allen, MD, was awarded to Anna Han, PhD, of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia.

The 2020 AACR-Pfizer Breast Cancer Research Fellowship went to Yudan Chi, PhD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

The 2020 AACR-Swim Across America Cancer Research Fellowship went to Manisha Jalan, DPhil, of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

The 2020 AACR-Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation Fellowship was awarded to Laura Sipe, PhD, of The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis.

The 2020 The AACR-QuadW Foundation Fellowship for Clinical/Translational Sarcoma Research was awarded to Jenna M. Gedminas, MD, of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Translational Cancer Research Award

The 2020 AACR-Conquer Cancer Foundation of ASCO Young Investigator Award for Translational Cancer Research went to Dimitrios Mathios, MD, of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Career Development Awards

The 2020 AACR Gertrude B. Elion Cancer Research Award was presented to Kaysia Ludford, MD, of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston.

The 2019 AACR-MPM Oncology Charitable Foundation Transformative Cancer Research Grants were presented to Liron Bar-Peled, PhD, of Massachusetts General Hospital, and Sahand Hormoz, PhD, of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The 2020 AACR-Novocure Career Development Awards for Tumor Treating Fields Research went to Narasimha Kumar Karanam, PhD, of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, and Chirag B. Patel, MD, PhD, of Stanford University, Palo Alto.

The 2020 Breast Cancer Research Foundation-AACR Career Development Awards for Translational Breast Cancer Research were presented to Isaac Harris, PhD, of the University of Rochester Medical Center, Rochester, and Sheheryar Kabraji, BM BCh, of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Independent Investigator Awards

The 2020 AACR-Bayer Innovation and Discovery Grants were presented to James L. Chen, MD, of The Ohio State University; Nicholas A. Graham, PhD, of the University of Southern California; Willy Hugo, PhD, of the University of California, Los Angeles; Edward L. The 2020 AACR-Bristol Myers Squibb Midcareer Female Investigator Grant was presented to Laura D. Wood, MD, PhD, of Johns Hopkins University-School of Medicine.

The 2019 AACR-Novocure Tumor Treating Fields Research Grant was presented to Gerben R. Borst, MD, PhD, of The Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam.

The 2020 AACR-Novocure Tumor Treating Fields Research Grants went to Carsten Hagemann, PhD, of the Universitätsklinikum Würzburg, Germany; Sandeep Mittal, MD, FRCSC, FACS, of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg; Debabrata Saha, PhD, of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center; David D.
