On the heels of the ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago, ASCO is working with leading oncology societies in Thailand, China, Japan, South Korea, and others to convene the world of oncology in Asia.
It has been my privilege to serve as Chair of the Co-Host Committee for ASCO’s newest and groundbreaking scientific meeting. Breakthrough: A Global Summit for Oncology Innovators will be held from October 11 to 13, 2019, in Bangkok, Thailand, in collaboration with the Thai Society of Clinical Oncology.

What is Breakthrough? It is a novel meeting that will leverage the latest developments in technology, scientific research, and clinical practice to transform the future of cancer care. It is an opportunity to engage with some of the greatest minds in clinical care, medical research, and health technology—along with the innovative leaders of Asia—for a collaboration unlike any other. It represents an entirely new approach to cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, collaborative discoveries in cancer care.
Breakthrough represents a number of “firsts.” It is the first-ever ASCO scientific meeting in Asia, home to some of the world’s most innovative technology companies. It is also the only ASCO conference to connect oncology communities across Asia and leading technology companies from around the world, innovators in research, and other leading minds in clinical oncology.
