Patricia LoRusso, DO

Patricia LoRusso, DO, Professor of Medicine (Medical Oncology) and Associate Director of Innovative Medicine at Yale Cancer Center, has been named Chair of the Women in Cancer Research (WICR) Council of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).

WICR is a membership group within the AACR committed to recognizing women’s scientific achievements and fostering their career development and advancement in cancer research. In her role as Chairperson, Dr. LoRusso will advise AACR leadership on issues of concern to women investigators.

Dr. LoRusso has more than 25 years of expertise in medical oncology, drug development, and early-phase clinical trials, and her experience will undoubtedly add to the future endeavors of WICR.

Roy Herbst, MD, PhD, Ensign Professor of Medicine (Medical Oncology), Chief of Medical Oncology at Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital, and Associate Director for Translational Research, commented, “Dr. LoRusso’s expertise is recognized around the globe, and she is a leader in developing novel trial designs.
